Orbicularis Oculi Muscle
Function: Responsible for closing the eyelids. Relevant conditions: Bell's palsy, Blepharospasm.
Tarsal Plates
Function: Provide structural support to the eyelids. Relevant conditions: Eyelid laceration, Entropion.
Lacrimal Gland
Function: Produces tears to lubricate the eye. Relevant conditions: Dry eye syndrome, Lacrimal gland tumor.
Levator Palpebrae Superioris Muscle
Function: Elevates the upper eyelid. Relevant conditions: Ptosis, Eyelid myokymia.
Meibomian Glands
