LASIK
Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis, a surgical procedure used to correct vision in people who are nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism
DME
Diabetic Macular Edema, an accumulation of fluid in the macula part of the retina that occurs with diabetic retinopathy
IOP
Intraocular Pressure, the fluid pressure inside the eye
ROP
Retinopathy of Prematurity, an eye disorder that mainly occurs in premature infants. ROP can lead to vision loss
UVEA
The uveal tract, the middle layer of the eye which consists of the iris, ciliary body, and choroid
SLT
Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty, a form of laser surgery that is used to lower intraocular pressure in glaucoma
OCT
Optical Coherence Tomography, a non-invasive imaging test that uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of your retina
