Presbyopia
An age-related condition in which the ability to focus on close objects decreases over time. Reading glasses, bifocals, or multifocal contact lenses are common corrections.
Hyperopia
A disorder where distant objects may be seen more clearly than close ones. Correction usually involves convex lenses or optional refractive surgery.
Myopia
A condition where close objects appear clearly, but distant objects are blurry. Typically corrected with concave lenses or refractive surgery.
Astigmatism
A type of refractive error where the eye does not focus light evenly onto the retina, due to an irregularly shaped cornea. Corrected with special cylindrical lenses or refractive surgery.
