Autocratic Leadership
Characterized by individual control over all decisions with little input from group members. Potential impacts include high levels of dependency on the leader, lack of creative solutions from the group, and sometimes dissatisfaction or a high turnover rate.
Democratic Leadership
This style involves the distribution of responsibility among group members, fostering individual growth as well as collective decision-making. It can lead to higher satisfaction, more creativity, and better group dynamics overall.
Laissez-Faire Leadership
Leaders enable their team to function autonomously with minimal interference, which can lead to high independence within the group but may also result in a lack of direction, undefined roles, and poor motivation if not managed well.
Transformational Leadership
Focuses on inspiring and motivating followers to exceed their own expectations and capabilities, which can result in high engagement, innovative thinking, and strong team dynamics, but may also be challenging to sustain long-term.
Transactional Leadership
Based on a system of rewards and punishments, this style can be effective for task-oriented or highly regulated environments but can disrupt innovation and doesn't account for emotional intelligence in leadership.
