Clonal Selection
Clonal Selection is a fundamental mechanism in adaptive immunity where B cells with antigen-specific receptors are selected for and expand to produce clones that target a specific antigen.
Clonal Expansion
Following clonal selection, clonal expansion is the process where the selected B cells proliferate and differentiate into plasma cells that secrete large quantities of antibodies specific to the antigen.
