Ultrasound
Purpose: To visualize organs and structures in the pelvis. Involves: The use of sound waves to create images of the pelvic region.
Colposcopy
Purpose: To examine the cervix, vagina, and vulva for signs of disease. Involves: Use of a colposcope to magnify the area and detect abnormalities.
Laparoscopy
Purpose: To view the pelvic organs or perform surgery. Involves: Making small incisions to insert a laparoscope and other surgical instruments.
Hysteroscopy
Purpose: To diagnose or treat problems of the uterus. Involves: Insertion of a hysteroscope into the uterus to visualize the uterine cavity.

Dilation and Curettage (D&C)
Purpose: To diagnose or treat conditions affecting the lining of the uterus. Involves: Dilating the cervix and scraping the uterine lining.
Mammography
Purpose: To detect and diagnose breast disease, especially breast cancer. Involves: X-ray imaging of the breasts to identify abnormal growths or changes.
Cesarean Section
Purpose: To deliver a baby through a surgical incision in the abdomen and uterus. Involves: Surgery performed when vaginal delivery presents risks.
Pap Smear
Purpose: To screen for cervical cancer and HPV. Involves: Collection of cells from the cervix for examination under a microscope.
Oophorectomy
Purpose: To remove one or both ovaries, often to treat or prevent disease. Involves: Surgical removal of ovarian tissue through abdominal incision or laparoscopy.
