Pelvic Organ Prolapse Surgery
Indications include prolapse of the uterus, bladder, rectum, or vaginal vault. The surgery aims to restore the organs to their original position, often using mesh or sutures.
Tubal Ligation
Indications include permanent birth control for women. The procedure involves cutting, tying, or otherwise blocking the fallopian tubes to prevent eggs from reaching the uterus.
Salpingectomy
Indications include ectopic pregnancy, infections, or sterilization. The procedure involves the removal of one or both fallopian tubes.
Cesarean Section (C-Section)
Indications include obstructed labor, fetal distress, and multiple births. The procedure involves making an incision through the mother's abdomen and uterus to deliver the baby.
Hysterectomy
Indications include uterine fibroids, cancer, endometriosis, and abnormal bleeding. The uterus is removed, and sometimes the cervix and other reproductive organs. It can be total or partial.
Myomectomy
Indications include uterine fibroids that cause pain, heavy bleeding, or fertility issues. The procedure involves the surgical removal of fibroids from the uterus.
Dilation and Curettage (D&C)
Indications include clearing the uterine lining after a miscarriage, heavy bleeding, or to remove tissue for diagnosis. The procedure involves dilating the cervix and scraping the uterine lining.
Oophorectomy
Indications include ovarian cancer, large ovarian cysts, or ectopic pregnancy. The procedure involves the removal of one or both ovaries.
Endometrial Ablation
Indications include heavy menstrual bleeding not controlled by medication. The procedure destroys the lining of the uterus to reduce or stop bleeding.
Colposcopy and Cervical Biopsy
Indications include abnormal Pap smear results suggesting precancerous conditions of the cervix. The procedure involves examining the cervix with a colposcope and taking a biopsy if necessary.
