Fiber
A type of carbohydrate that the body can't digest. It helps regulate the body's use of sugars, helping to keep hunger and blood sugar in check.
Saturated Fats
Type of fat that is solid at room temperature. High intake can raise the level of cholesterol in the blood.
Complex Carbohydrates
Composed of sugar molecules strung together in long, complex chains. They provide a slower and more sustained release of energy than simple carbohydrates.
Trans Fats
Unsaturated fats that have been chemically altered to be solid at room temperature, associated with increased risk of heart disease.
Essential Amino Acids
Amino acids that cannot be made by the body. As a result, they must come from food.
Polyunsaturated Fats
Another type of healthy fat that includes essential fats like omega-3 and omega-6 that your body can't produce on its own.
Complete Proteins
Proteins that contain all nine essential amino acids necessary for the dietary needs of humans.
Monounsaturated Fats
One of the healthy fats, which can help reduce bad cholesterol levels in your blood and lower your risk of heart disease and stroke.
Carbohydrates
Main source of energy for the body, particularly for the brain and during high-intensity exercise. They are broken down into glucose.
Fats
Provides a concentrated source of energy, helps with nutrient absorption, and is necessary for cell membrane integrity and hormone production.
Proteins
Crucial for building and repairing tissues, including muscles. They are made up of amino acids and are essential for enzyme and hormone production.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Polyunsaturated fatty acids that are crucial for brain function and the growth and development of the body. They may also reduce the risk of heart disease.
Simple Carbohydrates
Quickly absorbed sugars that provide a rapid source of energy but can lead to spikes in blood sugar levels.
Non-essential Amino Acids
Amino acids that can be made by the body and are not required to be obtained directly through the diet.
Incomplete Proteins
Proteins that lack one or more of the essential amino acids that our bodies can't make and need to obtain from our diet.
