Flashcards
0/10
Left Main Coronary Artery (LMCA)
Supplies blood to the left side of the heart; can result in widespread heart damage and sudden cardiac death if occluded.
Left Anterior Descending Artery (LAD)
Supplies the front and bottom of the left ventricle and the front of the septum; may lead to a myocardial infarction commonly known as 'anterior wall MI' if occluded.
Left Circumflex Artery (LCx)
Supplies the left atrium and the side and back of the left ventricle; occlusion may lead to lateral or inferolateral MI.
Right Coronary Artery (RCA)
Supplies right atrium, right ventricle, bottom portion of both ventricles and back of the septum; occlusion can lead to right ventricular infarction or inferior MI.
Posterior Descending Artery (PDA)
Supplies the bottom of both ventricles and the back of the septum; occlusion can lead to infero-posterior MI.
Marginal Artery
Supplies the surface of the right ventricle; occlusion may cause right ventricular MI or damage.
Intermediate Artery (Ramus or Intermediate Branch)
Supplies blood to portions of the left ventricle; occlusion effects and symptoms can vary widely.
Obtuse Marginal Artery (OM)
Supplies blood to the lateral wall of the left ventricle; occlusion can cause lateral wall MI.
Septal Branches
Supply the interventricular septum; occlusion may result in a septal MI.
Diagonal Branch
Supplies the anterolateral myocardium; occlusion can result in anterolateral MI.
