Stable Angina
Chest pain that typically occurs with exertion and is relieved with rest or nitroglycerin.
Unstable Angina
Chest pain that is unpredictable, may occur at rest, and is not relieved by nitroglycerin; represents a medical emergency.
Prinzmetal's (Variant) Angina
Chest pain due to coronary artery spasm, often occurring at rest and sometimes associated with arrhythmias.
Microvascular Angina
Chest pain due to dysfunction of the small coronary arterioles, can be triggered by stress or exertion and is not always relieved by nitroglycerin.
Silent Ischemia
Lack of oxygen to the heart that does not result in the typical chest pain, can be detected by EKG changes or symptoms such as shortness of breath.
